CBRE, the global real estate advisor, has been appointed by Jernhusen, a real estate company owned by the Swedish Government, to begin leasing 100,000 sq m of office space in RegionCity in central Gothenburg.

The development of this new project is designed to increase mobility, address a shortage of office and residential space, and provide economic growth for the West of Sweden.

The new offices will be modern and well-connected spaces with an environmentally friendly design located adjacent to Gothenburg Central Station. In addition, a new rail station for “Västlänken” is being developed, and will be in operation to serve the region.

Under the plan, work on the new district will begin in 2016 with the first tenants to move into the new office space towards the end of 2018. The first phase of leasing of 20 000 sq m of office space will begin shortly.

Urban Hammarlund, Regional Manager at Jernhusen AO City Project, commented:

“It is a hugely exciting time for Gothenburg. With development plans for RegionCity complete, we look forward to working with CBRE to market the new, well-connected and highly efficient workplaces on offer.”

Karl Persson, Deputy Managing Director, CBRE Sweden added:

“We are very proud that Jernhusen has chosen us as its leasing partner for the office development of RegionCity. This project is of upmost importance to Gothenburg as it will attract a new generation of residents and workers. We aim to provide the best workspaces available for those who seek a stake in this growing region.”
